What it does
Capsule Self is a personal journaling and reflection app built for iPhone by Suns Out LLC. It gives you a quiet, intentional place to capture voice notes, written thoughts, and memory prompts without sending anything to a server. Everything lives on your device.
The design is deliberately calm — no social features, no notifications pushing you to engage more. Just a focused space to record what matters and find it again later.
Privacy-first by design
Most journaling apps sync your entries to the cloud so they can offer cross-device access — and serve you ads. Capsule Self takes the opposite approach: your data stays on your iPhone. Voice capture, speech processing, and saved content run on-device using Apple’s frameworks. No account is required to use the core app.
Who it is for
People who journal, record voice thoughts, want to capture moments they’ll return to, or simply need a gentler digital space for self-reflection than a generic notes app.
Core features in development
- Voice and text capsule creation with a focused, distraction-free capture flow.
- Structured entries that hold prompts, recordings, and written reflections together.
- A vault view for browsing saved capsules chronologically.
- A calm design system centered on readability and personal use.
Platform and status
